Network Architect

Opportunity: Network Architect

Location: Bangalore, India

Role purpose:

To design network solutions at a local level under the guidance of a Senior Network Architect and following global network standards. To work on the implementation of new global solutions for the Coats network. To work with project managers and external vendors to achieve project excellence. To create accurate documentation of all new solutions and work with external support partners to seamlessly transition all new solutions to support.

Key accountabilities:

  • Solution design and testing
    • Work under the guidance of the Senior Network Architects to design new network solutions at a local level
    • Work closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders and test users during proof of concepts of new solutions
    • Create appropriate lab environments to test new proposed network solutions
    • Document tested solution and migration plan
    • Maintain solution documentation and transition new solutions to support teams (internal and external)
  • Integration of Services and Solutions for global sites
    • Work closely with Senior Network Architects and project teams during planning activities
    • Support project teams during delivery of services
    • Engage with End User Solutions Teams and external contractors to facilitate delivery of services
    • Able to travel internationally to facilitate project activities if required

  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate IP addressing, configuration standards and netflow definitions in Solarwinds
    • Maintain accurate documentation for each site in the team’s SharePoint
    • Work with the external support vendors to keep an accurate inventory of Network devices in Solarwinds
    • Work with internal teams and external suppliers to keep an accurate inventory of circuits in the appropriate technology tools

Education, qualifications and experience:

  • Good planning, organisation and time-keeping skills
  • The ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to resolution
  • Capable of designing new solutions under tight deadlines
  • Availability to work shifts to cover other geographical regions
  • Network and applications security
  • Knowledge of: LAN, WAN, DHCP, Virtual Private Networks VPN, OSPF, QoS, DMVPN, BGP, access-lists, policy routing, ip sla, Netflow, SIP, RADIUS
  • Cisco routers, switches, access points and firewalls
  • In-depth understanding of Voice Gateways (SRST fallback, H.323 and SIP dial plans, PSTN technologies, etc.) and Gatekeepers
  • Strong familiarity and technical competence with traditional Voice technologies (E1/T1 etc).
  • Experience with Azure Networking and design
  • Experience in Cisco wireless design and 802.1x implementations
  • Minimum CCNA or equivalent experience


  • Relevant Technical Certification (CCNA, CCDA)
