Senior Engineer O365/Directory Services

Opportunity: Senior Engineer O365 / Directory services

Location: Bangalore, India


Role purpose:

  • The Senior Office 365 and Directory Services Engineer is responsible for assisting in defining the architecture of the Directory Services, Messaging and Collaboration Infrastructure for Coats globally. It also has visibility in Voice and Mobile Device Management solutions.
  • Responsible for R&D, testing, and evaluation of new technologies related to the areas that it oversees. This may involve working with vendors and in the eventual implementation of new solutions independently in given framework
  • Responsible for providing Level 3 problem resolution and creating common resolutions towards the Technical Support Desk.
  • Responsible for assigned projects given in the scope of responsibility to run independently and find global solutions.
  • Closely working under the direction of the Head of Global Office 365 and Directory Services in the performance of his/her duties.


Key Accountabilities:

Strategic planning

  • Assist the Head of Global Office 365 and Directory Services in evaluating new technologies to determine the right tools to be used in company, including on-prem server, Cloud IaaS, Operating system, Active Directory, Network services & O365.
  • Develop policies and guidelines on the user of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange and Skype for Business Infrastructure including their high-availability and fail-over solutions
  • Work closely with Cyber Security Director in order to implement Security and Compliance solutions
  • Liaise with external companies and create RFC documentation for appropriate engagement when reviewing procurement of new solutions

Design and Build

  • Perform R&D, testing for the design, build and implementation of Directory Services, Messaging, Collaboration and Voice
  • Propose solutions related to On-premise and Cloud hosted Active Directory Administration,
  • Maintain landscape diagram and documentation related to cloud service, server and storage
  • Participate with the project rollout and liaise with external vendors & internal users

Governance

  • Submit change request related to On-prem (AD, Exchange and SFB) and cloud hosted services (Azure, office 365)
  • Ensure the server (On-prem & Cloud) related design & solution are utilised and meet the business requirement within a reasonable performance
  • Provide guideline and train external vendor is following the defined process and procedure on server management, such as patching, backup
  • Comply with the cyber-security requirement to minimize the risk on server side

4th level support

  • Resolve escalated incidents ticket which cannot be solved by 2nd level support
  • Coordinate with external vendor to solve complicated issues, bugs

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

(Essential)

  • Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience of working in a global support environment
  • Experience in technical support of operating systems, servers and equipment including system management and disaster recovery.
  • Experience in managing Directory Services, Certificate Services, DNS Management (Internal and Public), MCSE preferred
  • Experience in Cloud service (Azure), O365 & managing out-sourced vendors , O365 and Azure certified, min MCSA
  • Will be highly motivated, strong performer, good technical writing skills
  • Strong organisational and follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Proactive, ability to use own initiative and take lead to devise creative solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical approach
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal

(Desirable)

  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer / Professional
  • Exposure to Mobile Device Management (MDM) Solutions
  • Familiar with Skype for Business Hybrid and Enterprise Voice Solutions
  • With Server virtualization concepts, server patching (SCCM) and network skills such as DHCP NPS
  • Working independently to find solutions or on projects
  • Innovative thinker, self-motivated explorer of new and better ways of simplification for the benefit of the company
