Integration Architect

Opportunity: Integration Architect

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Purpose:

  • Effective and efficient integration with our customers and partners is critical to delivering Coats business strategy. Without expertise in a wide range of integration tools, technologies, platforms and approaches, we simply could not cope with the complexity of systems integration required to support the organisation's ambitions. In your role within the Enterprise Architecture team, you will be responsible for delivering enterprise wide integration strategy and enterprise roadmap
  • You will be responsible for producing architectural artefacts of high quality and with greater clarity. You will be able to draw from your extensive experience with message-based, file-based and API-based integration approaches to provide clear, concise and trusted advice 
  • In addition to this, you will work with other architecture domain leads to understand the constraints, assumptions, issues and imperatives relating to their domain. You will develop strategies that allows Coats to address those challenges. You will also be expected to work with our customers, suppliers, internal IT and business stakeholders to ensure you understand their drivers, challenges and constraints; building good working relationships with them to ensure that you are seen as a trusted adviser.
  • Research emerging trends and influence Coat architecture roadmaps on best practices.

Key Accountabilities:

Principal accountabilities


  • Define and communicate the integration strategy with key stakeholders in order to gain input, buy-in and influence decision-making.
  • Accountable for integration architecture, all designs should meets modern middleware architecture standards.
  • Ensure that deliverables meet requirements, reliability, availability, manageability, performance, security and compliance.
  • Own wing-2-wing design process, define required services, drive canonical models and identify reusability opportunities
  • Define solutions based on SOA CoE architecture guidelines and present proposed designs to Enterprise Architecture Council and Technology leadership
  • Facilitate detailed requirements gathering and process decomposition
  • In partnership with EAC (Enterprise Architecture Council) influence ERP and application architects to ensure consistent nomenclature that enable integration across multiple businesses and systems
  • Prepare architecture specifications, sign off with key stakeholders and coordinate build process with internal and external development teams
  • Supports the Enterprise Architect in timely provision of architecture and delivery of projects.
  • Configure and govern Coats middleware tools

  • Borderless information flow between external customer, suppliers and Coats
  • Define Integration roadmap based on modern architecture patterns and technology
  • Produce project integration architecture deliverables
  • Control and orchestration of integration eco system
  • High quality architecture artefacts
  • Effective delivery of architecture framework
  • Design, build and deliver effective integrations with seamless information flow.

Level of decision-making authority

  • Direct and orchestrate all the integration requirements in Coats
  • Regulate and govern communication protocols to ensure data security 
  • Design authority for SAP PO and other integration tools
  • Governor of nomenclature for integration standards
  • Define the architecture patterns and EDI standards for Coats
  • Coordinate with customers and suppliers, define the final integration methodology and support structure.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:


  • 10+ year experience as an Integration consultant or  lead in a reputed organisation
  • Expertise in SAP Process Orchestration including BPM & BRM
  • IT, Science or Engineering honours degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), EAI and ESB technology
  • Hands on Experience in defining and utilising SAP RFC statures and  IDocs
  • Experience in EDI technology , cloud integration and iPaaS
  • Good understand of SAP ECC modules
  • In-depth experience in web services and REST APIs
  • Experience working in full integration and software development lifecycles
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in JSON, XML, HTTP , and flat file  upload automation processes.


  • Certification in any EAI tool. Including SAP PO.
  • TOGAF 9.1 certification
  • Experience with SAP DS or other ETL tools
