Opportunity: Operations HR Manager, Chittagong

Location: Chittagong, Bangladesh

Role purpose:
Provide high quality leadership and manage an effective and efficient HR Operations function that delivers proactive and business focused HR advice and services. 

To create effective HR business partnership with the line manager to ensure people administration is being done in compliance with law in line with policy procedures of the Company following the business code of Conduct, ethics and maintain harmonious industry relations environment in the plants to ensure uninterrupted business. 

Drive support change management initiatives and maintain effective flexibility at work to increase productivity through positive mind set engagement of people across all levels in the plant.   

Key Accountabilities:

Industrial Relation
  • Deal with CBA (Collective Bargaining agent) on regular basis to help create an effective partnership to drive changes and enhance flexibility at work to increase productivity and also to resolve bi annual long term agreement with CBA
  • Ensure effective implementation of IE (Industrial Engineering) manning across manufacturing and CWH in order to achieve OHK target
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Act as the primary contact for legal counsel in risk mitigation activities and litigation pertaining to employee relations matters
Employee Engagement: 
  • Administer staff welfare activities across manufacturing following the employee welfare activity calendar for the year
  • Facilitate and ensure on time and bias free completion of Employee engagement survey and take engagement initiative accordingly
Health and Safety:
  • Ensure the plant HR and Admin team adhere to the current company health and safety procedures whilst making suggestion for improvement 
  • Work closely along with line manager and H&S team members to play the vital role for increasing awareness and knowledge of the employee, contractor and visitors which will help them to move on with a safety standards for zero accidents across Ctg and Rjp Plant and CWH (Central Ware House)
Social Compliance: 
  • Maintain liaison with local affairs, government bodies, neighbouring factories and other agencies
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to HR, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Compliance : 
  • Ensure Compliance with Bangladesh Labour laws for all employees directly or indirectly engaged with manufacturing
  • Ensure required compliance in the factory premises implemented as per customer recommendation
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Maintains group HR guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
Recruitment and Training : 
  • Ensure resentment, trainings are administered at the workforce level following the recruitment and training policy, procedures with due approval form the respective concerns and also in coordination with the corporate HR
  • Ensure annual recruitment & training plan is place at all locations in manufacturing and the plan is duly implemented and records are maintained effectively with an objective of meeting the target training hours for the business
  • Ensure all employees in the Plants & CWH are having IDP (Individual Development Plan) and duly implemented as per plan
Others:  
  • Lead the plant HR teams at both locations for Rajendrapur, Chittagong Plant to ensure HR support for Rajendrapur Plant, Chittagong plant and CWH (Central Warehouse)
  • Ensure Performance Management & Succession Plan are well addressed across in all the Plant location and CWH 
  • Oversee general administration of the plants with appropriate control in security, gate-house, time & attendance, break time, medical services, travel & accommodation and contract labour engagement in a cost effective manner and also in Compliance with Bangladesh Labour laws administration
  • Participate in annual planning process with estimated cost / budgeting, monitor variances on monthly basis and ensure that the overall expenses are within budget on annual basis
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
(Essential)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; 
  • Indepth HR experience working in manufacturing HR with due exposure in industrial relations dealing with CBA (Collective Bargaining Agent). 
  • Has got good experience in driving changes to improve productivity and can manage change.
  • Can think / operate strategically with strong inter personal / communication skills. Can take decisions independently and make things happen to add value to business. Possess good knowledge on Labour laws & Compliance. Is a good team player and willing to develop self and the team members.
  • Familiar with MS Office with strong proficiency in PowerPoint and excel and well conversant in both Bangla & English.

  • Possess analytical ability and can negotiate well
