Plant HR Manager, Rajendrapur Plant

Opportunity: Plant HR Manager, Rajendrapur Plant

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Role Purpose:
  • Is to ensure operations HR at plant level (including Central Ware House) in managing IR (Industrial Relations), employee engagement, General Administration, welfare, recruitment & selection, training & development for all non-management roles to support all the concerning departments in the plant as business partner to help improve productivity, drive changes in compliance with the Company policy, procedures, code of conduct, ethics and local laws / regulations. 
Key Accountabilities:

Industrial Relation: 
  • Deal with CBA (Collective Bargaining Agent) on regular basis to keep them aligned towards business priorities to drive implement continuous improvement / changes in the plant;
  • Develop CBA office bearers and key employee (opinion makers) at the shop floor to help maintain a positive industrial relationship environment in the plant.
  • Administer participatory committee, CBA election and all other committee functions on regular basis following the regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure all regulatory reports are submitted to the Government agencies (i.e.: factory inspection office, labour directorate etc.) on regular basis on time without any delay.
  • Administer disciplinary matter in the plant following disciplinary procedure in compliance with Bangladesh Labour laws.
General Administration: 
  • Administer canteen, security, time & attendance, leave & holidays, travel & accommodations following the Company policy procedure and within the regulatory framework as defined in Bangladesh labour Laws.
  • Administer access control at the gate house 
  • Manage the 3rd party vendors as per contract and ensure that the vendors are fully compliant with local laws, regulations.
  • Ensure all the statutory licenses are duly renewed, updates at all time for the plant operations following the local laws, regulations.
  • Maintain an effective employee administration database at the plant level duly updated at all time. 
Employee care / Engagement  
  • Prepare and implement employee care / engagement event calendar for every year; 
  • Identifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction;
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
Compliance: 
  • Handle all Legal Compliance's and maintain healthy relations with all legal authorities, factory inspectorate, local authorities as and when required  
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with Bangladesh Labour Law and company Human Resources policies 
  • Facilitate and prepare documentation and information required for compliance with laws 
Training and Development: 
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and to achieve training man-hour target  
  • Coordinate with the plant management teams, manage the training schedules and maintain the training reports 
Health and Safety:
  • Ensure the Rjp plant HR and Admin team adhere to the current company health and safety procedures whilst making suggestion for improvement 
  • Work closely along with line manager and H&S team members to play the vital role for increasing awareness and knowledge of the employee, contractor and visitors which will help them to move on with a safety standards for zero accidents in Rjp Plant and CWH (Central Ware House) 
Others: 
  • Ensure Performance Management & Succession Plan are well addressed in Rjp Plant and CWH 
  • Achieve financial objectives by anticipating requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analysing variances
  • Achieve specific financial objectives by communicating with administrative personnel and making adjustments to workflow as necessary
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
(Essential)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline;
  • In-depth HR experience working in manufacturing HR with due exposure in industrial relations dealing with CBA (Collective Bargaining Agent). 
  • Has a good level of experience in driving changes to improve productivity and can manage change.
  • Can think / operate strategically with strong inter personal / communication skills. Can make things happen to add value to business. Possess good knowledge on Labour laws & Compliance. Is a good team player and willing to develop self and the team members.
  • Familiar with MS Office with strong proficiency in PowerPoint and excel and well conversant in both Bangla & English.
