Opportunity: Process Improvement and Digitisation Engineer

Location: Bursa, Turkey


Role Purpose:

  • This role is the combination of the Continues improvement and Industrial Engineering roles:
  • To establish Continuous Improvement Process throughout the supply chain in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the company.
  • To improve the organisation’s Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety parameters continuously.
  • To sustain the success.
  • To change the organization culture to “respect for people”, teamwork”, “continuous improvement” and “seek for perfection”.
  • To ensure industrial engineering standards are in place and up to date.
  • To determine standard labour and machine hours based on processes, calculate labour and machine efficiency and required number of labour and machine and report
  • To generate process level continuous improvement activities.
  • To establish world class industrial engineering standards


Key Accountabilities:

Establishing Process Improvement Process which consist of Lean, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering

  • Concept/Method creation with PI Manager
  • Creating and tracking work/process standards
  • Training (in class and on the job)
  • Culture and Awareness activities
  • Network and benchmark actively with other sites to identify and implement best practices.

Implementation and deployment of Lean Manufacturing.

  • Creating Lean Manufacturing implementation plan with Process Improvement Manager and steering committee
  • Organizing and coordinating necessary activities to deploy lean manufacturing implementation plan
  • Ensuring cooperation and coordination between functions and processes,
  • Monitoring the lean manufacturing implementation plan and report to Process Improvement Manager,
  • Creating solutions for barriers of implementation plan with Process Improvement Manager,
  • Spreading the lean vision in organization and ensuring all associates’ involvement.
  • Ensure optimum operational performance and efficient utilization of manufacturing assets, considering total delivered cost, quality, safety and service through lean mindset
  • Conduct training (according to training plan) for all associates in order to creating lean culture
  • Defining the required processes and activities for implementing and deploying.
  • Network and benchmark actively with other sites to identify and implement best practices.

Selecting and defining CIP tools and techniques

  • Supporting plant PI Manager on defining CIP tools and techniques and prioritizing according to business objectives
  • Ensuring CI practitioners are involved in applying selected and prioritized CIP tools and techniques in their field.

Carrying out CIP implementation

  • Mentoring and coaching lean leaders in application
  • Monitoring and reporting the progress of implementation and all activities to PI Manager.
  • Creating solutions for issues that might prevent the success of the activities and support project leaders in eliminating the barriers
  • Announcing the results of activities.

Time and method studies & calculations

  • Time studies for labour and machines.
  • Method studies in order to improve labour and machine efficiency.
  • Budget calculations to determine the number of required labour and machine.
  • Calculate the number of required indirect labour based on processes.
  • Job evaluation based on processes to determine degree of difficulty
  • Creating JSS’s
  • PAT training for the new comers and ensure that the trainers are involved IE learning's into the PAT training and followed properly,
  • Lead the new articles conversion factor calculations and ensure the all articles  has a  correct level of calculations,
  • Ensure the Global templates are in place and both manufacturing and PI teams understand and apply correctly.

Digitisation:

  • Ensure that the Coats Turkey is in the right position to implement the Industry  4.0 implementations which will be leading by Globally,
  • Ensure that the all the preparation are in the right way before Digital project implementations,
  • Leading the changes in the shop floor,
  • Leading the people involvement and functional departments are inline with project and supporting on time,
  • Communicate to manufacturing for the changes, improvements and needs,
  • Communicate to the Global team for the changes, improvements and needs.

Reporting

  • Track and report the performance
  • Do the monthly reports which are defined by the manufacturing and PI manager,
  • Role sharing for the capacity calculations for the machinery and employee,
  • Support the daily activities in shop floor and support the labor / machine efficiency

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

(Essential)

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably in Industrial Engineering)
  • Advanced in English
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Tools & Techniques
  • Background for Method studies,
  • Willing to manage changes,
  • Lead improvement activities,
  • Digital implementations background

(Desirable)

  • Professional Lean Manufacturing Qualification,
  • Prior Experience in Lean Manufacturing,
  • Teach Lean Manufacturing to associates,
  • Skill on moderation and coaching,
  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
