Opportunity: Account Director New Markets – North America Performance Materials

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Summary of role:
To develop techno-commercial high value performance materials with Performance Materials New Market segments in the Region. Liaise with customers’ R&D, engineering and other senior management with prospect organizations in order to develop coats thread specifications for new products and achieve profitable sales growth for New Markets as per strategy.

Key accountabilities:
  • Identify key decision makers and influencers in specific Performance Materials segments for the Region.
  • Understand customer need and develop winning propositions in a competitive market.
  • Get specification and cost the sale by focusing on technical quality and at a price premium 
  • Be involved in customer’s productive development process in order to develop new products and new supply chain.
  • Coordinate with each segment champion and Regional Units to service accounts.
  • Assist in the implementation of Performance Materials strategy and achieve sales growth and GM% targets
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
(Essential)
  • Degree educated or equivalent in field that supports Coats Specialty Business.
  • Sales or Techno-Commercial experience in Aramid, Yarns, Blends and Technical Fabric or other technical segments.
  • Strong network and good relationships in one of the above segments.
  • High energy, self-driven, achievement orientation
  • Track record of closing sales and delivering on profit commitments, especially in start-up operations
  • Key relationship skills. Will be required to travel 70% of the time and meet with customers and prospects. 
  • Ability to sell high value performance materials by engaging R&D, Engineering and other senior management with prospect organizations

  • Technical Degree in Engineering
