Opportunity: Account Manager - Apparel


Location: Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, Bentonville


Role Purpose:

Develop and manage Coats Apparel Global Accounts in the assigned area to ensure profitable sales growth and capture market share in all business lines (thread/trims/zippers/Global Services) in accordance with Coats Global Strategy.


Key Accountabilities:

Profitable Sales Growth & Brand Management

  • Deliver Global Account sales at or above plan level on an on-going basis

  • Maintain and increase penetration of existing accounts and secure new business accounts

  • Identify opportunities within each brand to maximize Coats Global Offer and advise senior management where global strategic initiatives are needed to realize incremental sales growth

  • Perform and analyse monthly sales audits to ensure all Global Account sales for specified accounts are captured

  • Follow up with the source markets and Global Accounts to ensure that the global contracts, BOM specifications and agreements are being enforced

  • Act as liaison between Coats’ source market teams and North American Global Account headquarters/offices or North American based agents/contractors

  • Maintain up to date source country and contractor lists for each account, and communicate these along with any seasonal production schedules to the relevant contacts within Coats worldwide to improve forecast accuracy

  • Acquire DNA and companies organizational charts to identify the key decision-makers for assigned customer base

  • Travel domestically and internationally to Global Account HQ, LO’s, factories and Coats local market offices

  • Regularly monitor competitor activities and suggest new products or marketing activities to grow share

  • Promote and police the Coats Global Offer for all business lines

  • Leverage technical expertise to drive sales

Administrative & General

  • Involvement in market facing activities – trade shows, competition information, and industry trends

  • Ensure management is provided with on time reporting on a weekly and monthly basis and ensure information provided is relevant and up to date

  • Ensure Salesforce.com is updated on a daily basis and all accounts details and opportunities are properly maintained

  • Prepare top line presentations for senior level executives (internal and external)

Education, Qualifications & Experience:

(Essential)

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any commercial discipline.

  • Experience in Sourcing and Manufacturing with account development and proven track record in sales growth

  • Results driven with the ability to create and implement strategic account plans to meet deadlines and achieve objectives

  • Ability to create and sustain relationships at all levels with both internal and external customers

  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation and negotiating skills (verbal and written)

  • Financial and business acumen with analytical skills

  • Demonstrates high professional integrity in internal and external dealings.

  • Innovative self-starter with the ability to work independently and in groups

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  

  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 70% of the time.

  • Willingness to relocate when necessary

(Desirable)

  • Master’s degree in Business Admin (MBA)

  • Experience in industrial thread with expert technical knowledge, preferably in an apparel environment.

  • Experience managing and using CRM systems (ie Salesforce.com)
