General Accounting Analyst

Opportunity: General Accounting Analyst

Location: North Carolina, Charlotte

Role purpose:

To manage certain financial functions for Coats Crafts North America (CCNA). Assist in the preparation of monthly account analyses and maintain the accuracy of the detailed general ledger.  Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statement preparation as well as the preparations of forecasts and the annual budgets.  Responsible for finance business support to various managerial and operational units, as delegated.


Essential Functions

  • Support the preparation of month-end financials for CCNA
  • Support the Financial Manager in the review of all monthly department expenses in comparison to budget/forecast
  • Preparation of the weekly sales flash and related input in the BCS system
  • Preparation of the monthly FET and related input in the BCS system
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of the year-end reporting package for the UK
  • Provide support for auditors (internal and external)
  • Responsible for Quarterly Royalty Process
  • Assist in the analysis of CCNA financial results and research problem areas requiring the attention of Finance leadership
  • Assist in the analysis of sales and profitability of key product areas
  • Preparation ad-hoc reports and analysis as requested by management.
  • Suggest areas of improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions

Non-Essential Functions

  • Other projects as assigned by CCNA Finance Manager

Physical Demands

  • Lift at least 20 pounds
  • Bend, stand, reach, kneel, squat and sit for periods of time
  • Ability to make decisions with limited information
  • Ability to work in areas without air-conditioning

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting
  • Minimum 0-2 years’ experience post qualification or combination of education/experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least a 9 out of 10 skill level with excel
  • Strong financial accounting background
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Experience of multi-site business operations.
  • Action focused.
  • Advanced interpersonal relationship skills at a variety of levels and greatly differing social and business settings
