Opportunity: Sales & Logistics Analyst


Location: Charlotte, North Carolina


Role Purpose:

This role will focus on providing analytical support for several key accounts with the primary role supporting JOANN Stores. Other accounts requiring logistic support will include but not limited to are: Hobby Lobby, Notions Marketing and A.C. Moore. This role will coordinate efforts between the customers and Coats to help maintain service, store in stock, forecast accuracy and supply chain compliance. 


Key Accountabilities:

Facilitate cross functional action between the customer and Coats & Clark

  • Supply National Account Manager with insights into sales volumes and store capacities
  • Assure that cost and retail changes occur on schedule
  • Direct product and information traffic to and from the customer for samples and new item criteria

Foster Business Intelligence for Coats and the Customer

  • Make use of user interface to map Category Analytics supplied by 3rd Party Supplier data
  • Provide analysis of current business segments based on Customer POS data and deliver solution-based action plans
  • Monitor store level data analytics for in-stock levels, sales anomalies, and performance evaluation

Customer Forecasting

  • Review of Coats item forecasts vs. customer projections (primarily JOANN)
  • Review of JAS projections vs. actual orders and communicate large discrepancies with JAS replenishment team
  • Forecast accuracy reports (monthly)
  • Prepare monthly sales estimates
  • Prepare new item projections for Planograms, promotions and special purchases

Vendor Compliance Resolution

  • Report internal notifications of violations
  • Maintain research of vendor compliance
  • Prepare responses back to customer
  • Complete processing of paperwork (i.e. copies of DM’s to A/R, and PD resolution)
  • Provide monthly reporting of violation summary
  • Advise new compliance manual updates as necessary

Customer Planning

  • Customer meeting preparation – participate in planogram and project meetings
  • Prepare and attend customer supply chain planning meetings as needed
  • Maintain customer quote sheets for new and existing items
  • Prepare POS and trend analysis for all product categories with recommendations

Physical Demands

  • Lift at least 20 pounds
  • Bend, stand, reach, kneel, squat and sit for periods of time
  • Ability to make decisions with limited information

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

(Essential)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management and/or 3 years administrative or logistics experience
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to travel (approx.8 days / month)
  • Manage multiple products concurrently
  • Ability to work on technical and business scenarios
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills

(Desirable)

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of big box retail or craft merchants
  • Retail Category Management experience
  • Customer Portal knowledge (JAS, Amazon, Meijer, Walmart, Michaels, etc.)
  • Business Intelligence software (Crystal Reports, SAP Reports, etc.)
