Sourcing and Commodity Management Manager

Opportunity: Sourcing and Commodity Management Manager 

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Role purpose:
Responsible for sourcing, negotiation, supplier strategy alignment and supplier management within the Division, coordinating with Global Teams, Marketing, Logistics and Quality. This role will report into the Head of Procurement for Crafts Division.

Key accountabilities:
  • Collaborate to define and implement Procurement strategies based on demand, market and supplier analysis to ensure long-term, cost-efficient and reliable on-time supply of materials in the required quality and conditions. 
  • Conduct commodity market research to stay abreast of trends and provide timely benchmarking analysis and routine reporting.  
  • Prepare and negotiate agreements to obtain best value with cross-functional support as needed. 
  • Generate and document spend, savings and other Procurement and Corporate reporting requirements. 
  • Keep current and familiar with active and inactive contracts and contract modifications, tracking and reporting risks and non-compliances. 
  • Track and submit recommendations to management for continued process improvement and the effective exploitation of all business activities, including tools and mechanisms. 
  • Support Procurement Dept, including standing in for other Procurement members, and all Supplier Management processes (e. g. selection, evaluation, qualification, development), as well as collaborate in all Manufacturing Operations procurement as needed. 
  • Support and drive all Corporate and Global policies and initiatives.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
(Essential)
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering or Procurement related discipline
  • Experience in a contracting and/or cost estimating role   
  • Experience with sourcing and commodity management  
  • Experience with analytical or financial reporting, and with legal and commercial contracting
  • Experience in purchasing with supplier qualification requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of regulated work environments and compliance reporting tools
  • Flexibility to travel and to work 1/2 time at sites for first 6-12 months

  • Global procurement experience with logistics
  • Previous SAP or ERP experience a plus
