Opportunity: Patrick Yarns Plant IE Standards Engineer

Location: Kings Mountain, North Carolina

Role Purpose:

To drive continuous improvements in all areas of manufacturing (operating efficiency and customer delivery performance). To ensure Industrial Engineering standards are developed and maintained for all manufacturing processes.

Key Accountabilities:

Manage the Plant Industrial Engineering function

  • Determines the most effective ways to use the basic factors of production – people, machines, information and energy to make company’s product.
  • To solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently by carefully studying product requirements and using mathematical methods to meet those requirements.

Productivity /Efficiency Improvements

  • To increase productivity through the management of people, methods of business organization, and technology
  • Recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and utilities
  • Provide leadership to conceptualize Lean Projects as well as lead teams for a variety of Continuous Improvement projects

Standard cost of products

  • Develops manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems and reliability objectives of finished products

Cost Estimates

  • Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review , action and control on new products

Plant reporting on weekly, monthly for productivity, labor and waste.

  • Produce weekly reporting of waste, labor, productivity and manufacturing parts & supplies

Education, Qualifications & Experience:


  • Industrial Engineering experience and end user support
  • Four year Industrial Degree or equivalent
  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge with proven understanding and successful applications of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to perform work measurement and construct Job specifications Sheet
  • Experience installing and supporting PC and Laptop hardware and software
  • Proficient utilization of Microsoft Office & Excel,and ability to learn new systems
  • Team player who is adaptable to change, overcomes challenges and has the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization


  • Textile manufacturing experience
  • Green Belt Lean/Six Sigma certification
  • Have extensive, practical, hands-on lean experience conceptualizing Lean projects and leading teams for successful implementation of a variety of continuous improvement projects
