Opportunity: Dye House Shift Executive, Horana Plant

Location: Sri Lanka

Purpose of role:
To improve dyehouse productivity by implementing standard operating procedures followed by robust process control for improving right first time dyeing and colour quality. 

Key Accountabilities:
  • Ensure all time (shift wise) the process is in control to meet the quality KPI s of Right First time and Colour Quality.
  • Ensure that all failed batches are investigated and assigned an accurate failure reason in a timely manner on a shift wise basis at the point of failure.
  • Carry out specific analysis on all lots that fail the specified passing criteria. Analysis should be on time and accurate to the best of your abilities.
  • Ensure the process is in control by analyzing daily data and by auditing SOP in process.
  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives cross functionally aimed at maximizing the potential for saving cost within the business whilst ensuring that Coats ”best practice” is in place
  • Ensure all dyehouse related SOPs are followed and displayed in dyehouse and best practices are maintained.
  • Ensure that production is carried out in compliance with all relevant safety, health, quality and environmental management policies, SOPs and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products / services and a responsible environmental attitude
  • Continually promote the principles of 5S housekeeping.
  • Ensure Dyehouse staff and operators achieve and maintain a high level of capability through the provision of ongoing training, support and both formal and informal performance assessment and feedback
  • Encourage Dyehouse employees to embrace change, understand and follow new processes and procedures put in place, in order to achieve the objectives of the organization
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge and Understanding of:
  • Project management.
  • Experiences in Six sigma and lean management systems. 
  • Experience in Colour Management systems. 
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 passes at G C E (A/L) examination in Science/Maths stream.
  • Degree in Chemical & Process Engineering or Diploma in textile Technology. 
  • Expertise in Microsoft Advance excel.
  • Track record of working in Textile Dyeing and finishing.
