Continuous Improvement Consultant

Opportunity: CI Consultant

Location: Derby, Fast React Systems Head Office

Fast React Systems is a fully owned subsidiary of Coats Group PLC and is part of the Coats Global Services division which specialises in ‘best in class’ technology based solutions that deliver significant and measurable cost, speed and productivity improvements to manufacturers, sourcing companies, retailers and brands

Summary of the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Customer Services, you will be the CI/Best Practice/Technical Lead for our ‘Evolve’ Solution.

The role will require you to build excellent relationships with our clients to guarantee customer satisfaction, ROI and advocacy for our company and solutions. Taking full ownership of your client base, you will ensure the client is using their system to their full advantage, in line with industry best practice. With frequent visits to client sites, travel throughout the UK and overseas will be required.


The role will also require you to support the sales activity for our Evolve Solution by identifying and delivering additional sales from existing clients, other divisions within their business and any associated businesses.


This role will also require you to have a good understand of our Vision solutions


Key Responsibilities: 
Existing Clients
  • Taking ownership of the nominated clients and visiting at least once a year (varies by
  • client).
  • Explore any sales opportunities within other divisions of the client’s business or
  • associated companies.
  • Organise Continuous Improvement (CI) visits.
  • Ensure the renewal of client’s annual support/maintenance contract.
  • Where possible, ensure that the client is on the latest stable release of the software.
  • Demonstrate any new functions/modules by building a custom demonstration, if required.
  • Sell additional/new modules/functions, and professional services where appropriate.
  • Maintain details of all sales activities in the CRM system, including the creation of sales opportunities for customers.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline to ensure that the sales target is achieved.
  • Write functional specifications for client specific requests (business requirements only).
  • Create custom demos and customer proposals.
  • Regularly review customer status and any potential client sales with your line manager.
  • Completion of a cost sheet, PR1 and the creation of the client invoice for any client based sales.
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing materials (brochures, enews, etc.), as required.
  • Where Appropriate represent Fast React Systems Limited at trade exhibitions, events and shows.
New Business Prospects 
  • Learn and remain up-to-date with all aspects of Evolve.
  • Keep abreast of Visionng (high level).
  • Respond to RFI documents.
  • Maintain details of all sales activities and prospect status in the CRM system.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline to ensure that the sales target is achieved.
  • Conduct initial sales presentations to serve as introduction to prospect needs.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with prospect to understand current process and identify 
    problems/issues with existing processes (Pain Chain/business process analysis).
  • Review findings of discovery sessions and agree structure/scope of custom demo, 
    building custom demos and presenting them to prospects, as required.
  • Create client proposals.
  • Regularly review prospect status with line manager.
  • Prospect follow up, negotiation and close (ensuring that the terms of the software license 
    agreement are acceptable to both parties).
  • Ensure all issues discovered during the pre-sales cycle are effectively documented in 
    pre-sales notes. To ensure that any potential issues can be communicated to the ops team.
  • Completion of a cost sheet, PR1 and the creation of the client invoice.
  • Obtain a press release and an agreement for a case study for all successful sales.
  • Brief operations team with proposed client solution during Internal Kick Off meeting, 
    ensure that the summary pre-sales notes are fully understood, for a ‘fast-start’ to the project.
  • Attend External Kick Off meeting to ensure continuity between sales and operations.
  • Maintain a ’watching brief’ during the project and become involved to resolve any 
    commercial issues as alerted by the FR project manager.
  • Client debt chasing, if required.
Background and Skills:
Essential
  • Strong industry experience (garment, accessories, footwear, textiles) in an operational role e.g. factory management, production planning.
  • Appropriate software product knowledge (e.g. planning, ERP, manufacturing, PLM, 
    etc.) and ideally deep working knowledge of Evolve.
  • Ability to learn technical detail and present / demonstrate software effectively on a one to 
    one basis and to a larger group.
  • Ability to listen and interpret user needs (apart from wants) to provide workable, best 
    practice solutions to problems.
  • Be able to successfully use the ‘Is, Does, Means’ approach.
  • Effective communication and people skills whether face to face, over the telephone or 
    in writing.
  • Effective, timely documentation and process management.
  • Confident in dealing with individuals at all levels within an organisation.
  • Highly organised individual able to effectively priorities and plan workload.
  • High personal standards and attention to detail.
  • Good judgement and decision making.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Be proactive in seeking guidance on all new developments (both functionally and how 
    the client would use the software).
  • Self-motivated and ‘highly driven’.
  • A willingness to travel, both within the UK and overseas.
  • Full current driving license.
Desirable:
  • Account management / continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience of supply chain planning / ERP / shop floor systems.
  • Experience of LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Background knowledge of database (SQL, Access).
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
