Role Purpose:

To build the most engaging and effective campaigns using a customer centric approach. Working with the Product team to develop a strong customer value proposition which can then be weaved into a captivating campaign. Managing agency and internal creative team support as needed to take the content to market working together with the marketing channel owners and the internal comms teams to ensure the internal Coats audience has visibility of the content calendar and key messages.

To build out a range of ‘best in class’ product engagement tools that facilitate the sales team to present Coats product ranges, highlighting our unique product features, ensuring all relevant teams internally at Coats are aware of what is available and have easy access to the range of assets, whilst maintaining brand consistency across the broad range of assets.

Providing leadership, guidance and support to the Content Marketing team in building and executing world class marketing. Providing support to the local marketing teams to ensure content managed outside of the global marketing team are aligned with brand messaging and global campaigns


Key Accountabilities:

  • Define and managing through on an ongoing basis the workflows between the marketing communications team and the product teams for product launches and product focused value propositions requiring marketing content. Working together with the Product teams across business units (A&F, PM & Global Services) and other stakeholders to ensure a workflow is implemented that allows enough time between project brief and go-live date for the development of an effective marketing campaign
    • Enforce the workflow processes as needed to ensure that timelines do not slip
    • Maintain regular touch points with the Product teams for briefs and product roadmaps update sessions to allow campaign calendar planning
    • Attend the editorial team meetings to allow campaign timelines & content to be developed with resource planning and asset creation within the wider marketing team
    • Working together with the Product teams to support their development of the customer value propositions to ensure it demonstrates a customer centric approach
    • Building and executing, working in partnership with the Head of Brand as well as the wider Group Marketing team, an internal communications plan for marketing activities with timelines to facilitate campaign awareness and uptake by the sales teams, local marketing teams etc.
  • The day to day coordination and delivery of multi-channel global campaigns & marketing content
    • Working together with the Head of Marketing Communications, the Product teams and other key stakeholders as required to establish the focus business segments to be developed into the content calendar 
    • Build a campaign overview document to be used to generate awareness within the business of campaigns key messages and assets available via internal communication platforms (i.e. Coats World, Yammer etc.)
    • Supporting pre-briefing scoping sessions, refinement of requirements and interrogating briefing documents with key stakeholders, such as the Product teams, marketing channel owners etc.
    • Creating project plans using resource information to support efficient project management
    • Setting up roles and responsibility documents and ensuring these are agreed amongst key stakeholders and clearly communicated and actioned, ensuring everyone is up to date and aware of all activities and upcoming deadlines.
    • Briefing a third party marketing agency when required
    • Managing the approval process for assets created and escalating if support is required
    • Troubleshooting issues, escalating when required and working with the Head of Marketing Communications and the wider marketing team on adapting and improving processes.
    • Manage the workflow process with the internal graphics design resource when not utilising external resources
    • Ensure that the organisation’s brand and identity is adhered to in campaigns and in all communication channels utilised by the campaign in close partnership with the Head of Brand & Marketing Engagement  
    • Supporting the Marketing ROI and Insights Manager to measure and review the campaigns success
    • Ensuring campaigns are executed within budget and on time
  • Product engagement tools
    • Management of the product engagement tools library and the availability of the library to the Coats internal audience supported by the Marketing & Customer Events Coordinator
    • Review and auditing the contents of the library in line with guidance from the Product teams, Technical Services and Sales teams to ensure what is available is of most use to the business and is supportable from a resource view point
    • Defining the branding and messaging to be used across all assets ensuring consistency of look and message. Briefing and managing an agency to create the design and artwork of the assets
    • Determining with the Technical Services team what standard sewn samples etc. are to be created, providing the branding guidelines to be used for bespoke samples
  • Management of the events team
    • Guiding the work of 3 direct reports running the content calendar and the global customer events calendar, as well as the Content Marketing Coordinator and additional contractor support as required.
