Opportunity: Senior Implementation Consultant

Location: Hong Kong

Fast React Systems is a fully owned subsidiary of Coats Group PLC, the world’s leading industrial thread manufacturer serving the apparel and footwear industries, across 6 continents, with some 50 sites and with a sales presence in over 100 countries.

Role Purpose:

Based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Senior Pre-Sales Consultant / Project Manager, the Senior Implementation Consultant will successfully install, configure, implement and provide training for the FastReact software for a client.

The senior implementation consultant will work closely with the Project Team and contribute to:

  • The definition of scope for the project using appropriate project documentation i.e. PID, Business Process, Blueprint and Solution Design
  • The delivery project plan
  • All other project controls as defined and to include the Project Log, Visit Reports etc.

Key Accountabilities: 


  • Communicate effectively with and build strong working relationships with clients and internal employees at all levels.
  • Articulate and document technical requirements to the development team, ensuring the solution meets the client requirements and is delivered in the most effective manner


  • Support the writing of, and where agreed with the Project Team, own internal and client-facing documentation. Ensure any key documentation is kept up to date, version controlled and formatted in a professional way and to the agreed Fast React guidelines, with CRM kept up to date at all times.
  • Contribute towards the standardisation and continuous improvement of key Professional Services processes, from an FRS and Client perspective.


  • Draw out client requirements utilising a variety of techniques including:
    • Direct questioning
    • Pain-chain analysis
    • Is, does, means
    • Business process walkthroughs
    • Extracting from client-own documentation
    • Process mapping
  • Understand client requirements whilst offering solutions in line with the software capability plus offering best practice options.

Project Delivery

  • Identify and document project issues, suggest and own corrective actions, escalating at the appropriate stage and as required.
  • Take responsibility, in conjunction with the Project Team, for the scheduling of visits to support the successful delivery of the required project activities in line with the project plan.
  • Present to clients the Fast React software, demonstrating a strong understanding of the client and industry issues it helps to solve, and ‘bringing the solution to life’.
  • Work with the Project Team to build a delivery project plan that delivers to the client’s timelines and stays in budget.
  • Provide support to the client during both the User Acceptance and Go Live phases of the project guiding them through the recommended process and signoff stages.
  • Write test scripts and run tests on development changes made, as well as regression test, existing functionality where applicable.
  • Ensure that software modifications and bugs reported by clients or discovered during implementation are logged onto the appropriate systems, and resolved in a timely manner to ensure on time project delivery.
  • Provide detailed client training schedules considering all delegates capabilities and gain training signoff as part of the overall project signoff.
  • Successfully deliver client training on the Fast React software, demonstrating a logical approach, focussing on the client’s business processes, utilising terminology relevant to the client and industry, being sensitive at all stages to different learning styles
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and execute client facing activities to ensure clients continue to get the most from the FastReact solution

Education, Qualification and Experience:


  • Experience in the garment/footwear/textile industry, likely in a merchandising or similar role
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English languages, including good reading and writing skills
  • Technically strong, capable and keen to learn new software and its application through training and ‘hands on’ project exposure with experienced consultants
  • A strong, analytical approach to problem solving
  • Self-motivated capable of working either alone, or as part of a team. A good self-learner and willing to invest in yourself (through self-study and gaining knowledge)
  • Ability to listen and interpret user needs (and filter out user ‘wants’), to provide good quality, workable solutions for clients
  • Excellent communication and people skills including face to face, over the telephone and in writing. Comfortable dealing with client personnel at all levels
  • A willingness to travel, certainly in Hong Kong and China and potentially throughout Asia
  • Experience of MS Office products, particularly MS Excel.


  • Experience of the new style development process and/or supply chain planning
  • Experience of software implementation and support
  • A background knowledge of sourcing/buying offices
  • Exposure to International business/buyers
  • Commercial awareness
  • Background knowledge of databases (such as SQL and Access)
  • Experience of using Microsoft CRM.
